Stagg Distillery gathered at Buffalo Trace to rediscover forgotten traditions, forming what became known as the Distiller’s Council. Inspired by Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr.’s trailblazing methods, they revived his original sour mash process, blending time-honored technique with modern expertise. Crafted in near-1880s fashion, this exceptional bourbon honors that pivotal gathering and celebrates the enduring spirit of innovation that defines Taylor’s legacy.

In 2006, a tornado damaged Buffalo Trace’s historic Warehouse C, exposing a batch of barrels to the elements while repairs were made.
