What are you doing in response to the COVID-19 Outbreak and what changes can I expect to my visit?

How much do the tours cost?

Our tours and tastings are complimentary.

Do I need a reservation to take a tour?

No, but registration is recommended to guarantee a spot. Our Visit Us page will describe the tour opportunities and allow you to reserve a spot. Please note, due to our COVID-19 response, tour sizes are limited and strictly enforced. If you have a group, they may need to split up on multiple tours for safety reasons.

Is Buffalo Trace family friendly?

The Trace Tour is open to visitors of all ages. All other tours are open to guests that are 12 years of age and older and accompanied by an adult. Guests may also utilize our playground facilities if they have completed steps for entry.

Is the distillery ADA accessible?

The Visitor Center and Gift Shop are ADA accessible. The Trace Tour is ADA accessible.

Can I bring my dog?

We are dog friendly and are happy for you to bring them on our campus.  If you take a tour, there are some place where dogs aren’t allowed, but your guide will provide that information.

Where can I park?

There is a large parking lot on our grounds for comfortable, complimentary parking. Access our parking map here.

Is there RV and/or camper parking?

There are areas for parking RVs, large vehicles, and campers on the grounds.

What if I do not have time to take a tour? Can I just do a tasting or browse the Gift Shop?

You can register for a tasting here. We would love for you to come to our expanded gift shop. Due to social distancing guidelines, you may have to wait to enter the building.

What products do you have available to taste?

Due to our unique liquor license, we can allow limited products for tasting. We can offer 1 and ¾ ounces of tastings per visitor, per day. Our tastings are included at the conclusion of your tour or available as a stand-alone experience. All tours and tastings are complimentary and require registration.

We offer the following items for sample after the conclusion of our tours: Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Eagle Rare Bourbon, Wheatley Vodka, Buffalo Trace Cream, Freddie’s Root Beer and Rebecca Ruth bourbon balls.

What spirits do you have available to purchase at the Gift Shop?

Do you ship your spirits?

No, our spirits are only available in our Gift Shop. You can order them for curbside pick up. Start your order.

Ship to Home Orders

Why can't I add any Curbside Pickup items to my order?

At this time, Curbside Pickup orders and ship to home orders must be placed separately. Complete your shipped order. Click Continue Shopping and add your chosen Curbside Pickup items to cart to complete your Curbside order.

How can I confirm that my home delivery order went through?

Once you have placed your order you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this shortly after placing an order, please make sure to check any junk or spam filters as some inboxes may mistakenly direct your confirmation there.

How can I find out if my order has been shipped?

Once your order has shipped you will receive another email confirmation that indicates your tracking number. Once you receive this email, please use the tracking number provided for updates on shipping status and estimated delivery date. Again, please double check all mailboxes if you have not received this within 3-5 days after placing your order.

When will my order ship?

Your order will generally be shipped within 3-5 business days of being received. Once it is shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information.

When will my order arrive?

Delivery Estimates are based on two factors: order processing time and time in transit. The time in transit depends on the delivery option selected in the checkout. Time in transit begins after the items have been shipped and picked up by the delivery carrier.

All orders are shipped from Kentucky. Once your order has shipped, tracking information will be sent to via email.

I want to order an item that is currently out of stock. When will it be back in stock?

At this time we do not have advance notice of when additional inventory will become available, so unfortunately, we cannot provide you with any information regarding when an item will be back in stock. Please check back daily to see if the item you are looking for has come back into stock as the store is updated daily as inventory is received.

What is your return policy?

Buffalo Trace Distillery wants to ensure you are 100% satisfied with your order from us. If what you ordered did not work out for any reason, please contact us at (855) 915-5590. We are happy to assist you in returning an item for a refund or exchange.

Curbside Pickup at Buffalo Trace Distillery

What is Curbside Pickup?

Curbside Pickup allows you to order items from the Buffalo Trace Distillery website and we’ll bring them out to your car when you arrive at the designated pickup parking spaces at the Distillery.

Curbside Pickup is available for items specifically identified as Curbside Pickup only. Please look for Curbside Pickup in the item name or shop the Curbside Pickup page

  1. Shop Curbside Pickup eligible items and place your order. Please place a separate order if you wish to have items shipped to your home.
  2. We’ll let you know when your order is ready for curbside pickup - Approximately two business days from the time your order is placed. Your payment method will be charged at the time of purchase.  If for some reason, you are unable to pick up your order, a refund will be issued. When you're ready to head to the Distillery, gather your ID confirming your age and your order number. Only the person who placed the order is permitted to pick it up. Tip: Add Giftshop@buffalotrace.com to your safe senders list. 
  3. Drive up & wait safely in your car. Once you arrive at the Distillery, follow the signs to the Curbside Pickup checkpoint. A Distillery team member will verify your name and age with your ID. In an effort to maintain proper social distancing and safety, we will either place your order in your trunk/back of your vehicle or set it on a table for you to pick up and carry to your vehicle.

How can I find out when my Distillery Curbside Pickup order is ready?

Within two business days, you should receive an email from Giftshop@buffalotrace.com confirming that your order is ready to be picked up at the distillery.  Buffalo Trace Distillery is located at 113 Great Buffalo Trace, Frankfort, KY 40601.  Curbside Pickup is available Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm. 

There is an initial checkpoint to verify age and order number.  You will need to present age verification that matches the name on the order, along with the order number provided before proceeding into the Distillery to pick up your order.  In an effort to maintain proper social distancing and safety, we will either place your order in your trunk/back of your vehicle or set it on a table for you to pick up and carry to your vehicle. 

What are the directions to the Distillery?

From Lexington

Take I-64 West toward Louisville. Get off at Exit 58 and turn right off the exit ramp onto US-60 West. Go straight for 5 miles and do not make any turns. This road becomes 421-North/and US 127 South and Wilkinson Blvd. The entrance to Buffalo Trace Distillery will be on your right. Look for our green plank fence and turn right through the big stone gates onto Great Buffalo Trace.

Travel Time: 30 minutes

From Louisville

Take I-64 East towards Frankfort. Get off interstate at Exit #53B/US 127 North. Go North on US 127 North for 5 miles. Turn left onto 421 SOUTH (still 127 North/ also Wilkinson Blvd) directly after you cross the Kentucky River and see the Capital Plaza Hotel directly in front of you. *NOTE: Do not turn left until you have completely crossed over the entire bridge. Ensure you do not turn onto 421 NORTH which is directly before you cross the Kentucky River. The Buffalo Trace Distillery will be on the left in one mile. Look for our green plank fence and turn left through the big stone gates onto Great Buffalo Trace.

Travel Time: 60 minutes

From Cincinnati

Take I-75 South to I-64 West. Take I-64 West toward Louisville. Get off at Exit 58 and turn right off the exit ramp onto US-60 West. Go straight for 5 miles and do not make any turns. This road becomes 421-North/and US 127 South and Wilkinson Blvd. The entrance to Buffalo Trace Distillery will be on your right. Look for our green plank fence and turn right through the big stone gates onto Great Buffalo Trace.

Travel Time: 1 hour 45 minutes

From Nashville

Take I-65 North towards Louisville. Take Exit 93 for Martha Layne Collins/ Bluegrass Parkway towards Bardstown/Lexington. Merge onto Martha Layne Collins/ Bluegrass Parkway. Take Exit 59B to merge into 127 N toward Lawrenceburg/Frankfort. Turn left onto 421 SOUTH (still 127 North/ also Wilkinson Blvd) directly after you cross the Kentucky River and see the Capital Plaza Hotel directly in front of you. *NOTE: Do not turn left until you have completely crossed over the entire bridge. How long do I have to pick up my Distillery Curbside order?

Your order will be held for one week from the time the initial pickup confirmation is sent.   If you are not able to pick up in that window, your order will be automatically refunded.

Can someone else pick up my Distillery curbside order for me? 

No. You will need to present age verification that matches the name on the order along with the order number at pickup.

How can I find out when specific products are going to be available online?

The site will be updated as inventory is available.  Unfortunately, we do not have visibility to available products in advance.  we suggest to check the site regularly.
